All Galleries: The Annual 5th Grade Invitational. This exhibit is made up of one piece of artwork from every 5th grade student in Bemidji with special guest schools, Red Lake Elementary and School Craft Learning Community.

JULY Announcing the opening of “Shop 426″ a fine art and craft gallery store located in the Bemidji Community Art Center.

“re • collection”  work created by a collective of 3 Bemidji High School graduates from the Class of 1976.  Work presented by Susan Waughtel, Deb Brewer Carlson and Michael Lemon.

SEPTEMBER 5th through OCTOBER 25th

Gallery X2: “Natural Motion” by photographer Sean McCroy.  McCroy will be our featured speaker on September 5th at 6pm during the First Friday Art Walk Opening Reception from 5 to 7pm.  Using new equipment to allow slower shutter speeds and longer exposure times, McCroy’s work explores the world of motion creating sometimes surreal images in nature. (This activity is made possible, in part, by a Region 2 Arts Council Grant with funding through the McKnight Foundation.) 

Main Gallery:  “Color Studies” by Gege Holden featuring seasonal themes and colors expressed with fabric.

Main Gallery:  “The Dolls – Homeless women telling their stories through art” presented by Sandra Haff and the artists from “I Love a Parade”.  “The Dolls” Project gave women who have experienced homelessness an opportunity to tell their own stories through autobiographical dolls, each expressing a distinctive message about each individual woman.  I Love a Parade and artists of from The Dolls Project will be our featured guests on October 3rd, 2008 from 5 to 7pm during the First Friday Art Walk.

 

OCTOBER 7TH - It’s Only Clay Artist Lecture with Linda Christianson.  BSU campus, Ed Arts Building, Room#115

OCTOBER 8TH – 9TH -Two day workshop presented on the campus of BSU, Visual Arts Dept ceramics studio by artist Linda Christiensen.  More details at bcac.wordpress.com

NOVEMBER 7TH THROUGH DECEMBER 20TH 

It’s Only Clay 2008 a national juried ceramics competition and exhibition.  2008 juror, Linda Christiansen.
