May 4th through May 12th at the BCAC the 5th Grade Invitational is made up of one piece of work from each fifth grader in ISD31. Special guest school this year is Red Lake Elementary. Works include pastels, collage, masks, music instruments and oversized images. Always an enjoyable show with lots of color and amazing talent from Horace May, J.W. Smith, Lincoln, Central, Solway, Northern and St. Philips Elementary.

19th Annual Friend of the Arts to be Honored

The BCAC would like to Congratulate Marie Luoma on becoming the 19th recipient of the Annual “Friend of the Arts” Award for 2007.
Active in music and theater as a student, teacher and performer for most of her life, Marie is still busy volunteering her time and contributing her energy to the arts. Whether it’s singing with the “Third Street Swingers”, the Bemidji Senior Center choral group she formed, or playing the piano at nursing and assisted living centers in the Bemidji area, Marie continues to share her love for the arts and inspire many of us in the community, young and old.
Join us on May 23, from 5 to 7pm at the Headwaters School of Music and the Arts for a reception and award presentation to honor Marie. Social hour will be from 5 to 6 pm followed by the award ceremony at 6pm. Refreshments provided by the Wildhare Bistro and Coffee House.
