The Bemidji Community Art Center would like to announce the election and appointment of its new officers to the Board of Directors for 2007-2008. The BCAC welcomes Lorie Yourd as President, Jan Wright-Knutson as Vice President, Joann Hovet as Second Vice President, T. Todd Masman as Treasurer and Pat Kelly as Secretary. We would also like to thank Natalie Roholt for her dedicated service as President and Bill Kelly as long standing Vice President. The BCAC is a non-profit, member-supported organization dedicated to encouraging the growth and development of art in the Bemidji community. Bemidji State University Student Awards Exhibit
March 2-31
For the month of March the BCAC will be hosting the “Bemidji State University Student Awards Exhibit”. Open to all Bemidji State University Visual Arts Majors and Minors, this juried show will display a wide range of work submitted by students applying for 2007 Visual Arts Scholarships and the 2007 Dalzotto Awards for graduating seniors.
Covering painting to ceramics and jewelry to mixed media, the variety of work represented in this show makes this an eclectic and exciting exhibit. First Friday Art Walk and opening reception March 2nd, 2007 from 5 to 7 pm. Exhibit lecture and announcement of Awards will be at 6pm during the reception. 218-444-7570 bcac@paulbunyan.net

For the month of February, the BCAC opens its doors to its artist members and asks them to take part in this very special exhibit. Selections for the exhibit include a wide range of media from paintings and pastels, metal work, sculpture and pottery to fabric and mixed media. Over 25 different artists are represented in this eclectic and exciting exhibit. Many of the pieces are for sale. The painting seen here is “Three Horses” by Paula Swenson, acrylic on canvas.
